Chery Thailand, in collaboration with the Society of Automotive Engineers Thailand, Grand Prix International Public Company Limited, and the Thai Automotive Journalists Association, officially hosted the award presentation ceremony for the “Chery V23 Style Up Challenge”—a design competition showcasing innovative vehicle customization ideas from the new generation. The ceremony took place at the CHERY booth during the 47th Bangkok International Motor Show, held at Challenger Hall 1–3, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, on April 5, 2026, amid a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere. The event was attended by senior executives, industry partners, and members of the media, who were present to witness and celebrate the creativity and achievements of the participants.
Following the official launch of the project on January 15, 2026, the initiative was further promoted through a nationwide roadshow across leading educational institutions, including Poh-Chang Academy of Arts, Chulalongkorn University, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Silpakorn University, Bangkok University, and Srinakharinwirot University. As a result, the competition received an overwhelming response, with a total of 361 submissions, comprising 253 entries from students and 108 entries from the general public.
From all submissions, the judging panel shortlisted 6 finalists, divided equally into 3 entries from the student category and 3 entries from the general public category. These selected works were showcased at the CHERY booth, allowing visitors to participate by casting their votes for their favorite designs in the Popular Vote category.
The award presentation ceremony was honored by the presence of senior executives, led by Mr. Cedric Chui, President of Chery Thailand; Mr. Jim Li, Executive Director of Chery Thailand; and Mr. Peerapong Eamlumnow, Chief Executive Officer of Grand Prix International Public Company Limited, who jointly presented the awards to the winners.
Mr. Cedric Chui, President of Chery Thailand, stated:
“We would like to extend our congratulations to all winners. Each designer has successfully expressed the unique identity of the Chery V23 with outstanding creativity, while also presenting functional concepts that reflect a deep understanding of modern users. CHERY firmly believes that the creativity of Thai designers will be a key driving force in the future of the automotive industry. Mr. Peerapong Eamlumnow, Chief Executive Officer of Grand Prix International Public Company Limited, further stated:
“We are truly delighted to be part of the ‘Chery V23 Style Up Challenge,’ a project that not only provides a platform for the new generation to showcase their creative potential, but also serves as a meaningful bridge connecting academic knowledge with the automotive industry. The six finalist model designs were exhibited at the 47th Bangkok International Motor Show, allowing visitors to appreciate the works and participate in the judging process. This represents an important opportunity for Thai designers to present their creations on an international stage. All selected works clearly reflect the capabilities and fresh perspectives of Thai designers, particularly in their interpretation of the ‘Boxy Style’ identity of the Chery V23, while effectively addressing the needs of modern consumers.
We firmly believe that collaboration among the private sector, industry partners, and educational institutions will play a vital role in driving the sustainable growth of Thailand’s automotive industry, while also supporting Thai designers in reaching the global stage in the future.”
